Job Description: Level II Product Assembly Technician

 

Role Overview

As a Product Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling a wide variety of electronic controls, such as joysticks, control grips, and control boxes, using an array of machinery, soldering equipment, and hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Use CNC/manual milling machines/lathes to prep parts (training provided)
  • Assemble printed circuit boards with a combination of through hole and surface mount components
  • Accurately measure and cut lengths of cable, wires, and various coverings
  • Solder and crimp various wires, connectors, and terminals
  • Build and document new/customized products from drawings/sketches with limited details
  • Provide troubleshooting and tech support for customers via email or phone

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with electronic or wiring assembly would be an asset
  • Knowledge of basic electronic circuits, components, and measurement tools
  • Experience in programming would be an asset, ideally focused on PIC, Atmel, and/or STM microcontrollers
  • Ability to follow and create written assembly instructions
  • A good level of manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve efficiently and effectively
  • Adaptable to/able to deal with a changing work environment, delays, or unexpected events
  • Able to work in a team environment, take direction from peers, offer and receive constructive criticism
